The IRS (Indian Remote Sensing satellites) program has been successfully operating since 1988.
Two main types of satellites are presented by IRS program - operational and experimental (IRS-P series (P - prototype)), intended for testing prospective Earth observation instruments.
Operational satellites IRS-1C/1D have been orbiting since 1995 and 1997, respectively. Instruments installed on these satellites provide for imaging the Earth in the panchromatic band with a spatial resolution of 5.8 m (the PAN instrument) and simultaneous multispectral imaging with a spatial resolution of 23 and 188 m (the LISS-3 and WiFS instruments).
The ScanEx Center offers IRS-1C/1D data for the territory of Russia and the CIS countries as well as takes orders for near real-time target imagery from the IRS-1C/1D satellites. The data archive has been compiling since 2002.
