In October 2003, the ResourceSat-1 (IRS-P6) was launched. Since spring 2004 the satellite has been downlinking data in a near real-time mode. The new space platform carries the advanced scanner LISS-4 imaging the Earth with a spatial resolution of 5.8 m both in the mono- and multispectral modes with an advanced radiometric quality as well as the new generation scanner AWiFS providing for a unique possibility of imaging with a resolution of 55 m within a swath width of 740 km once in 5 days. The Russian users know the LISS-3 scanner that captures data from the IRS-1C/1D satellite and operates on this space platform too.
On November 12, 2004 a license agreement was signed between the R&D Center ScanEx and the ANTRIX Corporation Ltd. on the data reception from the IRS-P6 satellite. In accordance with this agreement the R&D Center ScanEx has an exclusive right within the territory of Russia and the CIS to integrate the patented software for the IRS-P6 data reception developed by the ANTRIX Corporation Ltd. with the hard- and software UniScan™ systems developed at the R&D Center ScanEx. This Agreement empowers the R&D Center ScanEx to either deliver or upgrade the already installed UniSan™ stations for the IRS-P6 data reception within the territory of Russia and the CIS as well as to distribute the IRS-P6 data on a commercial basis and provide services on this data processing.
ScanEx Center accepts orders for operational target imaging from IRS-P6. Our archive has been collecting and compiling data since 2006.
