Throughout the summer season of 2006 ScanEx conducted data reception under international programs from SPOT and LANDSAT-5 satellites, delivering images of Russian territories in continuous mode. The commercial network of ground stations, created by ScanEx Center, received French SPOT-2/4 images with the resolution of 10 m in panchromatic and 20 m in multispectral modes and American LANDSAT-5 images at 30 m resolution. Three centers in Moscow, Irkutsk and Magadan, equipped with the universal UniScan ground receiving stations, made up the basics of the net. Reception of images from IRS/-1D and IRS-P6 (India), EROS-A (Israel) and RADARSAT-1 (Canada) also continued during the season in Russia.

The main result of the year 2006 was the acquisition of low clouds images, covering 80% of the Russian territory, within one imaging season. Thanks to the introduction of a new ground station in Magadan middle resolution data of the Sakhalin and Far East regions were acquired.

In all, 216 thousand panchromatic and multispectral scenes were acquired from SPOT-2/4 satellites as per the agreement with the French SPOT Image company, with 35 thousand scenes received in clear-day or low clouds conditions. SPOT-2/4 satellites did the nadir imaging of Russia, which provided for high accuracy of the received data. The total volume of received SPOT-2/4 images constitutes 11.7 terabytes.

According to the agreement with the USGS over 13 thousand LANDSAT-5 scenes were acquired, with 7.5 thousand scenes of the Russia territory (602 clear-day or low clouds scenes), under the Mid-Decadal Global Land Survey (MDGLS) project from July to November 2006. The total amount of the LANDSAT-5 image made up 3.7 terabytes. The price for each scene of the LANDSAT-5 TM sensor of 185x185 km (6 spectral channels including thermal one) is 11700 rubles.

All the images are archived and accessible for preview and ordering via web-catalog: http://catalog.scanex.ru.

For the first time 100% of Russian territory is expected to be covered with images in the season-2007 considering the already existing data. Based on the received information from space ScanEx Center executes state contracts for space monitoring of vast territories for the benefit of Rosleskhoz (State Forest Service), Ministry of Transportation and other Russian governmental departments. Coverage of the Russian territory enables to update large-scale topographic maps and to conduct monitoring of global changes in the country.

To implement different projects for maps updating and mapping products development ScanEx Center offers services for the purchase of SPOT-2/4 images of large areas at lower prices. With the starting price of 15.8 rubles per one square kilometer, the discount for the coverage will be from 10 to 30%. Depending on the number of scenes, the price per one SPOT image scene of 60x60 km is defined as follows:

- 10 – 30 scenes - 53 100 rubles;
- 31 – 50 scenes – 47 400 rubles;
- over 50 scenes – 41 400 rubles.

Depending on the coverage area, the price per one square kilometer of SPOT will be as follows:

- from 30 000 to 100 000 sq. km – 14 rubles;
- from 100 000 to 200 000 sq. km - 13 rubles;
- over 200 000 sq. km - 11 rubles.

Besides, ScanEx Center accepts requests for the annual subscribers’ support that provide for the delivery of 50, 100 or 300 scenes (panchromatic, multispectral and combined products) for the specified region throughout the year.
