The unique feature of ScanMagic® is that all geometric corrections are made on-the-fly, and the user has a possibility to evaluate the result and to change parameters of correction in real time. Images can be transformed into various map projections. A large set of predetermined coordinate systems, cartographic projections, ellipsoids and datums is supported; the user can also define custom parameters for map projections.
The application allows to make arbitrary spatial and spectral stacks of images, to create radiometrically balanced mosaics of images with different spatial resolutions, to re-project images, to perform resolution merge of images, etc.
ScanMagic® provides for automatic and manual selection of geographic borders for the image being corrected, selection of an image subset for processing, assignment of an optional output pixel size for the corrected, use of affine and polynomial transformations, selection of image resampling method (nearest neighbour, bilinear interpolation, cubic convolution).
Ground control points (GCPs) may be used for a precise geometric correction. It is possible to select GCPs from vector maps, images or input them from a keyboard. The application has a convenient GCPs editor.
