Panda™ Ground Receiving Station is a hardware and software system for receiving and processing data from low-orbiting meteorological satellites in L-band.
Panda™ is developed to replace the obsolete Alice-SC
™ GRS stations by SCANEX (over 50 stations installed from 2002 to 2015). It is intended for high resistance to harsh climatic conditions. Currently, the station is able to receive and process information from the Meteor-M
, NOAA, MetOp and FengYun-3
series of satellites.
Panda™ includes a complete set of software for automated data reception, processing and visualization, which allows for use of the system in the operational meteorological practice for studying the cloud cover as well as monitoring land and water surfaces.
